Getting Ready for the HIMSS Revenue Cycle Summit

We’re taking VisitPay on the road and heading to the HIMSS Revenue Cycle Summit at the Wynn on March 5th. This is going to be a great venue for us to meet providers, payers and partners as part of a deep conversation on revenue cycle dynamics. I can’t wait.

I have huge respect for the teams I’ve met that work in the revenue cycle functions at our clients. They’ve built up ways of working over the years that work just fine, but forces beyond their control have really shaken things up.

With the rise of the patient as payer, they’re dealing with a huge disruption and challenge that they were never set up to handle. They’re working with consumers on a large scale and the bottom line of the health system is at stake. We work with some of the largest and most complex healthcare organizations in the country, where organizational change can be tough. This will be a great day to share stories, listen and learn.

CEO Perspective

It’s in the spirit of lessons learned that Kent Ivanoff, the CEO of VisitPay, will help open the event. Kent is a former leader of Capital One Financial, and it’s his heritage in consumer finance that really shapes VisitPay’s approach to the patient financing space.

Kent will share a few key takeaways from his experience at Capital One that are fundamental to how health systems should work with the patient consumer today. The story starts with treating consumers as individuals, building a tailored financial approach for each person. It’s not as hard as it sounds. You can get going in a few weeks. And the story ends with happy consumers and massive improvements in revenue cycle performance.

Hearing from a Client: St. Luke’s Health System

By happy coincidence, one of our clients, St. Luke’s Health System, is presenting on the same day. Our good friend, Michael Rawdan, Senior Director of Patient Experience, will be talking about measuring the financial experience of patients and making sensible decisions about credit policy that treat the patient consumer with respect while enabling the hospital balance sheet to work for the long-term nature of consumer debt.

The team at St. Luke’s are known leaders in the patient financing space and it’s always great to hear their story.

Special Guest at Lunch

After Michael speaks, we’re delighted to be hosting a lunch with some of the event attendees. If you’ve received your invitation, sign up! You won’t want to miss what will be a great conversation (we promise, no presentations!).

We have an exciting guest up our sleeves that we’re looking forward to introducing to the attendees of the summit. He and his company are hard at work with VisitPay to help us transform the economics of long-term patient financing from the providers’ perspective — in a radically new way.

We hope to see you there. Along with our CEO and me, several other members of the VisitPay team will be in attendance. If you’re not going to be in Vegas, all is not lost: Becker’s 9th Annual Meeting in Chicago is coming right up, where we’re hosting a major discussion on the state of patient financing with some of the brightest minds in our industry.

If you’ll be in Vegas or Chicago (or both), we’d love to see you. Just fill out the contact form and we’ll make it happen.
